Born on the salty shores of Kalk Bay, Surf Training began as a small weekend project to get local kids off the streets and onto the waves. What started with three donated surfboards has evolved into a community youth programme focused on empowerment through sport, discipline, and environmental awareness.
We teach boys and girls between 8–18 how to surf, swim safely, and respect the ocean — but more importantly, we help them build confidence, teamwork, and purpose.
Our Mission
Create opportunities for youth through surfing
Provide mentorship and life-skills training
Promote ocean care and environmental education
Encourage healthy, substance-free living
Today, Surf Training partners with local businesses and NGOs to provide boards, wetsuits, and safe transport for kids. Our dream? To see one of our surfers represent South Africa, and to inspire a new generation to ride waves instead of life’s hardships.
